Dr. Gina Mohammed, Sault Ste. Marie research scientist and author, will be featured Sunday morning January 12th on the CBC Radio Program "Fresh Air" with Jeff Goodes.
Dr. Mohammed has studied the behaviour and physiology of plants for over 20 years. She has distilled her observations into a book of 100 inspirational reflections called "Catnip and Kerosene Grass – What Plants Teach Us About Life". The book draws upon scientific knowledge and anecdotal information about plants to encourage and challenge people.
Gina Mohammed holds a PhD in Biology (Plant Physiology) from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and a BSc in Biology from the University of Toronto. She has been a research scientist for more than 20 years and has written over 120 articles for scientific and popular audiences, as well as several chapters in university textbooks. She is presently an advisor to the European Space Agency.
"Fresh Air" is heard on CBC Radio One on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6 to 9. The "Catnip" interview will be broadcast between 8:30 and 9:00 am on Sunday, January 12, 2003.
